Founders Day 2010 was celebrated February 21st with Rev. Xavier Jackson, and the Chapman Grove Community, at the Chapman Grove Baptist Church.
Dr. M. Rick Turner, President of the Albemarle–Charlottesville was the featured speaker for the event. Vice President, Janette Martin gave the purpose of celebrating Founders Day. Refreshments were served in the Church Fellowship Hall following the program.
The Albemarle- Charlottesville Branch of the NAACP hosted their Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on September 24th, 2010 at the Doubletree Hotel in Charlottesville.
Guest speaker for the event was the Honorable Donna F. Edwards (D Md). The 1st recipient of the Virginia Banks Carrington Humanitarian Award was Mrs. Priscilla Whiting (posthumously).
