The NAACP Albemarle-Charlottesville Branch is here to help resolve issues related to discrimination and injustice. Through the Legal Redress Committee, we are dedicated to working with you and on your behalf to investigate and provide assistance on legal issues within the Albemarle-Charlottesville community.
Please keep in mind that the branch does not give legal advice but is willing to assist you if possible. Our assistance does not create an attorney-client relationship. Our role is to work toward communication with all parties involved with the goal of reaching a solution to the problem.
If you need our help addressing a legal situation, follow these steps to get started:
- Download a complaint form.
- Complete the form as accurately as possible, clearly stating the problem. (If you need assistance with this, please call the branch office 434.220.1493).
- Return the completed form to us via postal mail or drop-off.
Upon review by the Legal Redress Committee, we will give you a response as soon as possible and inform you whether we are able to assist you with your complaint in conformance with our by-laws and mission of the NAACP.
